For me, choosing a destination is a lot like
throwing a dart at a map. Although I always wanted to visit Asia, China was the
big unknown and the last place I envisioned myself visiting. I received an
invitation from a Chinese University in Xi’an "Shaanxi Institute
of International Trade & Commerce" asking me to give lecture on
appearance and fashion. I booked my flight ticket via Beijing to
Xi’an. My plan was to stay 3 days in Beijing before heading to Xi’an
for a lecture.
Beijing is China's one of the biggest and most prosperous
city. Living in Beijing can be
exceedingly frustrating, but take the bad with the good, and don’t let the
little things get to you. The air pollution is definitely the worst part of
living in Beijing. Experiencing something new every day, having endless places to visit, a constant sense of wonder and excitement! It’s amazing visiting Beijing.
I’m
writing these sentences from my Sandalwood Boutique
Hotel which is 15 min away from Tiananmen square. The hotel is
boutique and modern with traditional touches. The venue is set in Feng -Tai
district. Tiananmen
square has been place of political protests and lots visitors
from all over the world come every year to visit this historical site.
The Great Wall is an attraction that is worthy of all its hype. The Great Wall is a whopping 21,196 kilometres long, spanning East to West across China. The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is the most well-preserved part which was like stepping onto a time-capsule to the past. Overall, we walked approximately a 12 km out and back. But besides from being tired after that trip, you truly feel like a hero. This might be one of the greatest things I've ever seen and done. The area is very mountainous which makes the views even more spectacular.
There is a Chinese saying that goes “food is heaven for the people”. During my time in China, I tried to eat as widely as possible, eating the same dish twice only if absolutely necessary. From hot chilies and hot pot to congee and traditional tea ceremonies, a whole world of new flavors, textures, and aromas awaits your discovery. In Chinese cuisine, rice is the symbol of life itself. It is added to many dishes and cooked in various ways, be it boiled, steamed, roasted, or stir-fried.
I love sharing my stories and experiences with people and building bridges between two different cultures.I would like to thank to Profesor Ms. Qu Mei head of ShaanXi Institute of International Trade&Commerce for giving me the opportunity to be here in China and share my experiences in fashion and appearance. With this given opportunity I gave a lecture to Chinese students in Xian city. Xièxiè 🌹
The Terracotta Warriors are the most famous attraction in Xi’an and you must see them. The old town of Xi’an is surrounded by a huge wall, an impressive and well-preserved construction. They were constructed under the Ming Dynasty to protect the city from invaders. Later, they were reinforced and extended by the Tang Dynasty.
Chengdu is well-known for lovely giant pandas, Their adorable faces greet you from
every street corner and I adore pandas. It’s as simple as that after all
that cuteness, a nice spicy bowl of Sichuan hotpot upon your return to the city
will be just what’s needed.
