Vancouver has a lot to offer year round. VFW is one of the most popular event in Vancouver which we wait with excitement every year and finally it was staged during the week of MARCH 18 – 24, 2019 this spring for the collection of FALL/WINTER 2019 at the David Lam Hall Venue.
After a seemingly endless winter, the new fashion season has finally arrived. Vancouver fashion week brings a lot of things this year new trends, street style, colorful-outfits, fashion icons, designers, media and lot more.
As summer quickly approaches, it's time to take a look at the runway trends that will set the tone for the season. Fashions may come and go, but one thing that remains is the idea of dressing in seasonal colors. Seasonal colors are hues that mirror the shades seen in the four seasons of nature. Fall color trends typically shift from the pastels and brights of summer to richer, warmer hues that reflect the autumn season, but sometimes the season's trending shades can be surprising.

How lucky I am because the greatest gift of life is friendship and I have received one at the #vancouverfashionweek. Marilyn R. Wilson is a real talent, she is an author, freelance writer and a speaker. I admire Marilyn's commitment to support local designers and Vancouver Fashion. #vfw2019
I always look forward to see new designers who are ever changing and unpredictable. The #vfw2019 season brought serious talent to runway with an incredible range of creative designers from Canada and international designers representing Australia, New Zealand, France, Taiwan, India, Russia, Japan, Poland, Mexico and Ukraine.
I adore unpredictable fashion designers showcases and ARLO left me inspired. Australian designer Charlotte Terry presented her collection "Chrysalis". This collection of women's wear is empowering.
Image consultant Kam Singh Bains collection will relentlessly convey confidence and the desire to platform authentic personal style through a powerful custom suit. Kam made an incredible impression with his Singh Styles collection.
Carmen Llaguno aims to incorporate femininity and spirituality throughout her garments and accessories. Her materials are carefully sourced and the pieces are are dyed with non-formaldehyde dyes.
French designer Ambre Savagnac of Blossom Sunday brought a colorful freshness to feminine designs. Her collection featured pastel tones accented with flower details.
Vancouver based brand Evan Clayton filled the room with adrenaline which fuses art and fashion to create artistic expression. Garments featured short dresses with shoulder pads, crotchless trousers, corsets, accessorized metal belts and even a silver sword.
Hand transfer paint on canvas were used by Cathy Silvia Voget as an all over graphic design for her collection. Cathy plays with classic form of evening outfits giving them strong touch of very feminine romantic sharpness linked with her very own idea of arts.
The House of AmZ creates clothing based on an eco-conscious and less waste philosophy. I am a supporter eco friendly fashion and increasingly new designers are embracing new ways to make their lines eco-friendlier, without sacrificing style.
Victoria based brand Sarah Runnalls Collection is on the cuts of the garments and quality of the fabrics. Linear designs on the garments were also found marking the faces of models in a cohesive way. Her collection was notably well draped and exquisitely detailed.
Australian designer, Susan Rose Tovar (SRT) focus towards fabrics and color, influencing through texture in luxurious pieces. Her clothing stretches between the Mind and Body.
I believe that we are stronger together than we are apart. By joining together we can do more to share the creative culture of our generation. I think that every independent artist, designer deserves the opportunity to be seen, heard and loved. Thank you very much to Vancouver Fashion Week and the founder Jamal Abdourahman for their support.
