I am natural born traveller. I just got back from one of the best trips of my life. I'm hearing you all, there was some crazy tracks in those hills and I have visited it for you.
Bright hot air balloons float above pastel sunrises. Cappadocia…the land of whimsical fairy chimneys and peculiar rock formations. Several volcanic eruptions followed by natural weathering and erosion, have created the weird and wonderful landscape of craters, canyons and fairy chimneys. Cappadocia is world famous for its balloon rides with the sunrise. Hundreds of hot air balloons filling the sky, flying over and through the fairytale-like canyons. I left my hotel around 5 AM for balloon ride and this was a once in a lifetime experience for me.
The hike to Love Valley was one of the highlights of my Cappadocia trip.
The valley gets its name from the unique phallic shaped rock formations, which
is the polite way of saying it’s full of penis shaped rocks..
The Red River, which also happens to be one of Turkey’s longest rivers,
has supplied the many generations of craftsmen with the red clay used to
create their iconic art. The very talented potters use a foot driven
spinning wheel to make the authentic Avanos pottery and always do so
from scratch. During my visit I came across many family run potteries. Beautiful plates,
pitchers, jars were displayed in the store, in all shades of blue. Small lovely
patterns were designed in by hand. I have set at the wheel,
but when I have started spinning it, it became clear; the clay was wet , jumping all around onto my clothes and shoes. I got excited by the thing
I have made, myself a Vase.
Nope, I’m not pulling your arm! Watching sunset helps you
appreciate life and helps you feel more energized. Cappadocia claims to
have the best sunset in the world, I climbed up and found one of the best
viewing spot. There's nothing like a beautiful sunset to end a healthy day.
Swinging my way up Love Valley in Cappadocia, Turkey has my heart.
I think to myself “Yeah, I could live here.” Not just visit but live.
I think to myself “Yeah, I could live here.” Not just visit but live.
And, when I think that, then I know I’ve found a
special place.
